Position Details

We are currently seeking a Director of Sales who possesses exceptional skills for the following sample of responsibilities:

  • Leads and directs the development and execution of strategic sales and marketing plans and initiatives to maximize hotel service and profitability
  • Interacts with clients, directs solicitation efforts, and secures business.
  • Act and look the part by being clever, professional, and setting a positive example.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual sales and marketing plans to accurately forecast budgets and achieve required operating results.
  • Assist and execute plans and asset management initiatives, including working with senior leadership to maintain or improve property’s market leadership position.
  • Demonstrate brand citizenship by maintaining compliance with all required brand standards, behaviors, hallmarks and license agreement mandates.
  • Know your guests by being thoughtful, adaptable, and building connections for them.
  • Make time to interact with guests, solicit feedback and build relationships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years Hotel Director of Sales, Sales Manager, or direct hotel sales experience is REQUIRED
  • Experience in the Northern NJ market a plus
  • Previous experience with new property openings a plus
  • Marriott® brand experience preferred
  • Proactive approach to prospecting for new business as well as account penetration and saturation
  • Superb organizational and follow up skills
  • Computer Skills including MS Word, Excel, Outlook a must
  • Professional appearance and conduct
