Summary
The successful candidate will be a strategic individual with 7-10 years of managerial accounting and financial management experience in a growing business. You consider yourself on a CFO career track.
Sample of Responsibilities
- Direct all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
- Prepare annual financial statements and work directly with independent auditors to certify the same.
- Analyze company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets.
- Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
- Develop and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Oversee Restaurant Controller, Assistant Controller, Hotel Controller, Treasury, Payroll, and Accounts Payable Managers.
- Oversee Treasury function and cash flow management.
- Assist senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
- Coordinate, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Coordinate income tax schedules and work with local tax accountant who prepares returns.
- Manage all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes.
- Build and maintain talent level in the accounting/finance department.
- Other finance and administrative duties as required.
Qualifications
- 7-10 plus years of managerial accounting and financial management experience.
- Experience working in an ever-changing environment.
- Recent experience scaling a finance operation from inception to at least $250 million in annual revenues.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical skills with even stronger skills in data management.
- Expert skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in a multi-unit service business.
- Skilled in managing direct reports.
- Ability to work with all levels of management within the organization and not just direct reports.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
- Development and acquisition finance experience.
