Summary

The successful candidate will be a strategic individual with 7-10 years of managerial accounting and financial management experience in a growing business. You consider yourself on a CFO career track.

Sample of Responsibilities

  • Direct all aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll and financial reporting.
  • Prepare annual financial statements and work directly with independent auditors to certify the same.
  • Analyze company's financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets.
  • Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
  • Develop and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting. Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Oversee Restaurant Controller, Assistant Controller, Hotel Controller, Treasury, Payroll, and Accounts Payable Managers.
  • Oversee Treasury function and cash flow management.
  • Assist senior management in financial planning and results management. Work with other team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.
  • Coordinate, preparing and reviewing monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
  • Coordinate income tax schedules and work with local tax accountant who prepares returns.
  • Manage all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property and other applicable taxes. 
  • Build and maintain talent level in the accounting/finance department.
  • Other finance and administrative duties as required.


Qualifications

  • 7-10 plus years of managerial accounting and financial management experience.
  • Experience working in an ever-changing environment.
  • Recent experience scaling a finance operation from inception to at least $250 million in annual revenues.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business. CPA preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with even stronger skills in data management.
  • Expert skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience in a multi-unit service business.
  • Skilled in managing direct reports.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management within the organization and not just direct reports.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.
  • Development and acquisition finance experience.
